It was a tough weekend of results for Wests Tigers in Round 8 with only the Magpies' Ron Massey side recording a win as the NRL boys went down to a red-hot Roosters attack on Saturday.
Michael Maguire's side were in the contest against the competition favourites early in the second half when Robbie Farah dived over from dummy half to make it 18-12, before Latrell Mitchell continued his dominant night to put the game beyond doubt.
The news wasn’t much better in Canterbury Cup as North Sydney Bears produced a dominant display to gain victory over the Magpies while club's Jersey Flegg and Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership side both went down in close fashion.
Western Suburbs Ron Massey side had a spectacular 43-24 victory over Cabramatta with both Isaac Rabuatoka and Jack Gibbons scoring two tries each.
Wests Tigers will take on the Penrith Panthers in first-grade on Friday as the side travels to Magic Round in Round 9. Jersey Flegg will face the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Leichhardt Oval while the other grads all have the bye.
