Wests Tigers NRL Head Coach Michael Maguire has named a strong side for Friday night's clash against the Penrith Panthers with Josh Reynolds set for his first game of the new season
Reynolds had featured for the club's Canterbury Cup side over the past fortnight as he completed his long-term return from injury, and will now move in to the halves with Benji Marshall (hamstring) unavailable for selection this week.
Reynolds will partner Luke Brooks in the halves for the first time since Round 16 of the 2018 season as Wests Tigers look to bounce back from last week's defeat.
Maguire has confirmed an otherwise unchanged side for Friday's game with Luke Garner named in the back row despite picking up a knock last week.
Russell Packer, Thomas Mikaele, Josh Aloiai and Michael Chee Kam will again feature off the interchange bench for Wests Tigers with Paul Momirovski, Matt Eisenhuth, Robbie Rochow and Chris McQueen all named as reserves.
Madison Sport Try of the Month: March
David Nofoaluma (shoulder) has not been named as he continues his rehabilitation with the winger expected to be available for selection next week, while Jacob Liddle (ankle) and Chris Lawrence (jaw/face) also remain unavailable for selection.
For Penrith, Viliame Kikau and Isaah Yeo have both been named to return from injury with James Fisher-Harris moving to lock. Moses Leota drops back to the bench alongside Hame Sele with Reagan Campbell-Gillard named to start at prop, while Frank Winterstein retains his spot on the bench after his club debut.
Dylan Edwards remains at fullback after a game to forget last week against Melbourne with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak named once again on the right wing.
Wests Tigers will confirm an updated 19-man squad for Friday's game on Thursday evening at 8:05pm AEDT before finalising their 17-man team to take on the Panthers one hour prior to kickoff at Panthers Stadium (7:05pm, Thursday).
