Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that promising young forward Henry Lealuga-Puhotau will join the club’s 2019 Development Squad effective immediately.
Lealuga-Puhotau has signed a new three-year deal that sees him move in to the club’s Development Squad effective immediately in 2019 through to 2020 before joining the extended NRL squad on a full-time basis in 2021.
A Wests junior who played his junior representative football with the Balmain Tigers, Lealuga-Puhotau trained full-time with the NRL squad throughout the pre-season — impressing Coach Michael Maguire with his development and work ethic.
“It’s great to have Henry step up now in to our Development Squad,” Maguire said.
“He has worked really hard during the pre-season, and we’re looking forward to seeing him take the next steps in his career with us at Wests Tigers."
Still only 18 years old, Lealuga-Puhotau will feature in the club’s Jersey Flegg team against the Bulldogs this Sunday alongside the club’s four other Development Players in 2019 — Jock Madden, Tommy Talau, Alex Seyfarth and Kane Bradley.
