Balmain Tigers Player #454 Bob Heaney on the honours wall at Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers would like to extend their condolences to the family of Bob Heaney following his recent passing.

Bob Heaney, otherwise known as Babe, played for Balmain in the mid to late 1950's, with 23 first-grade appearances for the black and gold from 1956 to 1957.

Beginning his first-grade career as a teenager — quite rare for players of that day and age — Heaney officially became Balmain Tigers Player #454.

Heaney started in the 1956 NSWRL Grand Final between Balmain and St. George, which was won 18-12 by the Dragons at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

He also played one game for Country Firsts in 1959.

The thoughts of all at Wests Tigers are with Bob's family at this time.
