While it was a winning weekend for Wests Tigers in Round 24, Ivan Cleary's side will not play finals football in 2018 after other results didn't fall the way they would have liked.
It was always going to be tough relying on other results, and despite Wests Tigers posting a win over the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles on Thursday night at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, the New Zealand Warriors and Brisbane Broncos winning their respective matches ensured they would not play finals footy.
After a season of such promise, Wests Tigers will end the year in ninth spot — regardless of how they fare in next Thursday's season finale against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.
In other grades, Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership side, Western Suburbs, delivered a disappointing performance on Saturday against the Newtown Jets — leaving them outside the top four and in to a sudden-death Elimination Final next Sunday against the Wyong Roos at Panthers Stadium.
Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg side also wrapped up their tough season with a 42-10 loss to Cronulla.
Round 25 will see the the final round of NRL regular season action, and the first week of ISP finals.
