Wests Tigers claim maiden NRL Touch Premiership

Wests Tigers Women's NRL Touch Premiership team has claimed the maiden premiership with a win over the Brisbane Broncos today at Cbus Super Stadium.

With both the Men's and Women's team facing off against Brisbane in sunny conditions, it was the women who got the day off to the perfect start with a 4-2 win over the previously undefeated Broncos.

Leading 2-1 at the break, it was a nervy second half for both sides but some strong defensive pressure and control with the ball ensured they would emerge with the club's maiden Touch Premiership.

Having watched their female counterparts battle it out, Wests Tigers and Brisbane would play out an enthralling contest in the men's competition that went right all the way in to Golden Point. Level at half-time, both teams would trade tries before Wests Tigers pulled out in front by five tries to three.

Brisbane would hit back to set the match up for a big finish inside the final minutes, and would sensationally level the match at 5-5 with less than a minute to go. After an error in drop-off from Wests Tigers, Brisbane would take their chance to win the game with a try in the corner giving them a 6-5 win.

Wests Tigers would like to congratulate both teams on terrific debut seasons!
