Lantrak Man of the Match: Round 2

Wests Tigers lock forward Elijah Taylor has been named the Lantrak Man of the Match from the club's thrilling win over the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park.

Starting the match at lock forward, Taylor played the entire first half with some stirring goal-line defence and crucial one-on-one tackles, before earning a short break in the second half.

However, with Kevin Naiqama winded in a bruising tackle from Cameron Munster, Taylor was forced back out there shortly after and refused to shirk his defensive responsibilities.

As Wests Tigers fought back for an incredible 10-8 victory, Taylor's numbers don't jump off the page but they were incredibly important — his 48 tackles at a 92 percent completion rate were the highest in the game, while his 11 runs for 73 metres came at crucial moments when his team needed him most.

As many fans have come to expect from last year's Kelly-Barnes Award winner, it was a team-first performance from Taylor that went a long way to achieving back to back wins for his side.
