NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has officially launched the 2018 Telstra Premiership with the new "This is How We League" campaign, a celebration of what the game stands for and represents to those that hold it dearest.

With the recent CBA agreement signed off with the players, negotiations around ARLC reform ongoing with the clubs, a historic stadium network set to commence across Sydney, and both the new NRL digital network and the latest broadcast cycle kicking off, Greenberg declared rugby league will become more accessible to fans and stakeholders than ever before.

Before a healthy turnout of fans, high profile skippers and representatives from each of the 16 clubs and a host of rugby league identities, Greenberg highlighted the game's achievements and the new "This is How We League" ad campaign that points to where the NRL is heading.

"It's about confidently saying we're proud of who we are, and what we stand for," Greenberg said.

"It's all about celebrating a truly diverse fan community and the unique relationship they have with their team, and the game.

"It's about We being a collective. Ultimately, we are all in this together.

"I truly feel it is a great time to be part of the game."

This is how we league - NRL 2018

Australian, Queensland and Melbourne Storm skipper Cameron Smith helped launch the 2018 season on behalf of the NRL's playing group, and spoke of the unique bond between the players and fans each time they take the paddock.

"In a week's time, we become combatants on the field," Smith said.

"But in the 25 rounds that lie ahead we will share some of the same highs, the same lows, and the same hopes of lifting the Premiership trophy on September 30.

"And we will share them with all of you – the fans of the game. Whether you are on the field or in the stands we all share the passion, the pride and the enjoyment the game brings.

"As players we are motivated each week by the love for our club colours, the fans who ride the journey with us, and our families who sacrifice so much."

The NRL season kicks off in a week's time on Thursday March 8 with St George Illawarra Dragons hosting the Brisbane Broncos at WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah.
