The 2018 junior representative calendar kicked off on Saturday with Western Suburbs and Balmain featuring in the Harold Matthews and SG Ball competitions.
Unfortunately, it was a tough start to the year for all four teams, who suffered comprehensive defeats against the Illawarra Steelers and Penrith Panthers in their respective matches.
Round Two of the junior representative season will see Wests travel to Morry Breen Oval to face the Central Coast Centurions while Balmain take on Newcastle at Leichhardt Oval.
