Wests Tigers rookie forward Alex Twal has been named as part of the 24-man Lebanon squad for the upcoming 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Twal will be joined in the Lebanon squad by Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership players Jaleel Seve-Derbas and Andrew Kazzi.

Selection in the squad caps off a whirlwind 2017 season for Twal that saw the 21-year-old make his first-grade debut in Round 17. The impressive young forward will now likely make his international debut for the Cedars when they take on France in their opening game on October 29.

Lebanon will continue their Group A fixtures against England on November 4, before facing tournament favourites Australia at Allianz Stadium on November 11.

Three teams out of Group A will qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
