Sunday afternoon football returns to Campbelltown Sports Stadium for the second time this season when Wests Tigers take on the Sydney Roosters in Round 14.
Not since 2010 have these two sides played out at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, with a Round 8 clash drawing a crowd of 19,901 — the biggest crowd at the venue this decade.
Despite losing to Penrith earlier this season, Wests Tigers still maintain a good record in the fixture — winning four of their last five Sunday games played out at Campbelltown.
Wests Tigers come in to the match off the back of a disappointing last start defeat against St. George-Illawarra— a match that saw the visitors struggle to get going early before storming home to almost steal victory over their more fancied opponents.
They’ll look to use the effort produced in that performance again this weekend, and will need to step up a level as they take on the Sydney Roosters, who extended their winning streak to four wins in a row with a gutsy effort over the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday.
Trent Robinson’s side also welcome back star halfback Mitchell Pearce (concussion) to the team, while Wests Tigers will be without Luke Brooks (hamstring), Chris Lawrence (hamstring) and Josh Aloiai (knee) again this week. Last week’s debutants Tuimoala Lolohea and Esan Marsters both retain their spot in the squad after strong debuts.
Sunday arvo footy returns to Campbelltown on June 11 when we take on the Roosters!
