Wests Tigers five-eighth Mitchell Moses has officially been named as the 2016 Player of the Year at the Club’s Presentation Night tonight at Le Montage.

The Player of the Year Award caps off a special night for the 21-year-old, who was also voted by his teammates as Wests Tigers 2016 NRL Players’ Player of the Year.

In just his second full season of first-grade, Moses was instrumental in Wests Tigers recording their highest regular season finish since 2011 — playing 23 of a possible 24 games this year to lead the team within one competition point of a finals berth.

The Carlingford Cougars junior finished the season with a team-high 18 try-assists, as well as six tries, 15 linebreaks, 13 linebreak assists, 10 offloads and 32 tackle breaks.

No Wests Tigers player contributed to more points in 2016 than Moses (185 points).

A local junior of the Club, Moses played junior representative football for Australian Schoolboys (2012) and NSW U/20’s (2014) before making his first-grade debut against the Penrith Panthers in Round 17, 2014. Since his debut game, Moses has incredibly missed just one game through injury, playing 57 of a possible 58 games for the Club.

Wests Tigers congratulate Mitchell on being named the Club’s NRL Player of the Year.
