Wests Tigers have recently welcomed both Shannon McDonnell and Wesley Lolo on train and trial contracts leading into the 2015 season.

Both players have been given until the end of February to train full-time with the NRL squad and potentially earn a second-tier contract for the upcoming season.

McDonnell, 27, made his NRL debut for Wests Tigers in 2005 and later played for the Newcastle Knights before leaving for England in 2012. The fullback played for Hull KR, Hull FC and most recently St Helens in Super League.

Lolo, a prop or second rower, played for St George Illawarra in the Holden Cup over the past two seasons.

Head Coach Jason Taylor is looking forward to working with both McDonnell and Lolo over the coming weeks.

“We were looking to bolster our depth in both of those positions and these guys have been given an opportunity to show us if they are worthy of a contract,” he said.
