Wests Tigers have been defeated 48-4 by the Sydney Roosters on Saturday night at a wet and windy Leichhardt Oval for their Round 23 clash.

Despite sticking with the defending premiers for the majority of the first half, a quick double in the second half to Roosters captain Anthony Minichello quickly saw the visitors push out to a healthy lead, which they would hold until the end.

The match was only three minutes old when Michael Jennings touched down for the first points of the match — finishing off Mitchell Pearce’s grubber next to the posts to allow the Roosters to take a 6-0 lead to start the night.

That lead was then pushed to 8-0 when James Maloney opted to take the two points from right in front following a penalty in the 23rd minute.
