Wests Tigers flying Fijian Marika Koroibete has scored a hat trick of tries for his country in a warm up match in Fiji.

The full national team, the Fiji Bati defeated the Fijian Residents side 50-12 in Nadi in front of the President Epeli Nilatikau in a final match before the Rugby League World Cup squad departs for England.

Koroibete was the star of the show, scoring three tries in a squad featuring Petero Civoneceva, Aku Uate, Sisa Waqa, with the Sims and Naiqama clans featuring among four sets of brothers in the squad.

Fiji coach Rick Stone said the game was a good warm up for his charges as they prepare to take on Ireland in their first pool match on October 26.

Having a game will give us more confidence and moving us forward, get some combinations and we will be a lot better for the RLWC," said Stone.

The Residents side was not fully strong knowing what we will face in the World Cup but I respect them for playing a good game.

The squad has a lot of experience among them as the majority of the players are based in overseas clubs who have a very good exposure of rugby league such as Petero in the squad will be a real boost the World Cup."
