Balmain Tigers and Western Suburbs Magpies will feature in the NSWRL Junior representative preliminary finals this Saturday, April 27, at St Marys Stadium.


The Tigers tackle Parramatta Eels at 1.15pm in the SG Ball following a thrilling 26-24 semi-final win over South Sydney.


The Magpies play Parramatta at 2.30pm in the Harold Matthews. Western Suburbs go into the match fresh after qualifying a week earlier.


Balmain twice came from behind to snatch a deserved win at Campbelltown Stadium against Souths.


Second Rower Junior Tatola opened the scoring for Balmain before South Sydney hit back to leave the score 6-6 at halftime.


Balmain again scored first in the second half when John Tohi backed up a great bust from five-eighth Rhys Armstrong.


The game was going try for try when Israel Davis hit back for South Sydney with 24 minutes remaining to take the score to 10-all.


But the Rabbitohs backed up that effort to take the lead for the first time in the match, missing the goal to lead 14-10.


Balmain centre Tom Satterthwaite scored a great try and went on to convert, putting Balmain back in from 16-14 with 14 minutes remaining.


With just seven minutes to go in the elimination semi-final, South Sydney stole the ball and scored to take the lead once more, 20-16.


The back and forth nature of the game continued with Balmain hitting back through centre Jaleel Seve-Davis to level the game up at 20-all with 4 minutes on the clock.


With time ticking down, Balmain hit the front through a brilliant kick regather from Cam Sutton, leaving the score at 26-20 with just one minute to go.


The drama wasn't over, with South Sydney scoring on the hooter to move within two. The conversion was missed, Balmain winning a thriller 26-24.
