Western Suburbs Magpies are confident of a very bright season in the NSWRL Junior Representative competitions in 2013.
The Magpies are fielding two quality teams in the prestigious Harold Matthews (U16) and SG Ball (U18) competitions.
Western Suburbs Development Manager for Wests Tigers, Ben Rogers, said the Magpies were proud to see local players given the opportunity to play in the competitions.
All of our players across both teams, except for one player, are from the Western Suburbs Junior League and Group 6 Junior League competitions, he said.
It shows what great depth and young talent there is within in the Macarthur region.
Both of our teams will be very competitive. They had very strong pre-seasons with no injuries and we are expecting good things.
Western Suburbs Magpies Chairman Mick Liubinskas presented the players with their gear at a recent presentation night at Wests Leagues Club, Campbelltown.
One of the most pleasing things from the night was seeing just how proud these young players are to represent their district club in the Magpies, he said.
Im very confident they will not only play well but will carry on the proud history of the Magpies and hopefully progress through to the Wests Tigers.
