Barry O'Farrell
Barry O’Farrell brings a wealth of experience to the Wests Tigers Board of Directors. The former Premier of New South Wales was appointed Chair of Wests Tigers in 2019, relinquishing his role later that year when taking up a role as High Commissioner to India. A long-standing Member of Wests Tigers and former CEO of Racing Australia, O’Farrell has extensive corporate experience with roles on the boards of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Obesity Australia, New South Wales Rugby League’s Foundation and Diabetes Australia.
Stephen Montgomery
Stephen has recently been appointed the Wests Tigers Board and became a Director of the Holman Barnes Group in March, 2023.Originally from rural NSW, Steve went to school in Campbelltown and now resides in the Inner West. His formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree (Agriculture), Diploma in Education, Diploma in Legal Practice and an Honours Degree in Law. A lawyer by profession, he was admitted as a barrister in 1991 and has held a solicitor’s practicing certificate for about 30 years.
Michelle McDowell
Michelle McDowell is the former Managing Director of Allied Express, bringing a wealth of experience in commercial, operations and logistics to the Wests Tigers Board. She also has significant business acumen and is passionate about community. Michelle has deep commercial insights into the Western suburbs of Sydney.
Dennis Burgess
Dennis is a professional musician and Managing Director of Burgess Ventures, which encompasses Regal Records. He has been a Debenture Holder of ‘Western Suburbs Leagues Club Ltd’ since 1996 and a Director for the past twenty years. Born and raised in Wests territory, Dennis was educated at Christian Brothers College, Burwood and has also served time as Director of Western Suburbs Magpies.
Charlie Viola
Charlie Viola is the Executive Chair of Viola Private Wealth and a former Partner at Pitcher Partners. He is a prominent financial advisor and industry leader, with exceptional financial management, commercial and strategy skills. Charlie grew up in Campbelltown and now lives in the Inner West.
Danny Stapleton
Danny Stapleton is the Chair and CEO of Bull Capital , a successful Sydney-based investment management company. Danny played for Balmain Tigers for ten seasons, making his first-grade debut in 1993 against Western Suburbs Magpies. Formerly Chair of Wests Tigers Football Committee, Danny is the current Chair of Balmain Tigers.
Annabelle Williams
Annabelle Williams OAM PLY is the former Chair of the Athlete’s Commission for Paralympics Australia and a former Board member of Paralympics Australia and Swimming Australia. She is a lawyer and a decorated athlete, with deep insights in high-performance and is an advocate for inclusion and excellence in sport. Annabelle grew up in Balmain.
