Despite facing a five-day turnaround, Wests Tigers co-captain Dene Halatau says he's confident he'll be right to play this Thursday night against South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Halatau suffered a hand injury in the opening minute of the Club's Round 8 defeat to the Canberra Raiders and did not feature again in the match, but said after successfully undergoing surgery on Sunday, he's hoping to be right to go come Thursday night.
"I had some minor surgery on it on Sunday," Halatau said. "One of our doctors [at the Club] is a hand surgeron so luckily he could get me in straight away.
"It's been a pretty positive result after the surgery so hopefully I'll be right to go Thursday.
"I'll go see another specialist tomorrow just to check it out and if he gives me the all clear then I'll get going. It's pretty devastating for us at the moment after last week's loss, and we don't get a lot of time to feel sorry for ourselves so we need to get back on the job."
